Vestments for Divine Service

Alb: The alb is the white outer garment our pastor wears. It is white to symbolize the purity that Jesus gives in baptism.

Stole: The stole is draped over the pastor's shoulders. It represents a yoke, and reminds that the pastor serves Christ. The stole is only worn by ordained ministers. The color of the stole matches the color of the season.

Cincture: The cincture is a rope worn around the pastor's waist. It is a reminder that the pastor is called to lead a pure life.

Chasuble: The chasuble is a poncho like garment worn during the celebration of the Lord's Supper. Like the stole, the chasuble is also symbolic of Christ's yoke and matches the color of the season.

Vestments for Prayer Services, Weddings, and Funerals

Cassock: The cassock is a long black garment. It is reminiscent of the daily attire worn by clergy for many years.

Surplice: The surplice is a white outer garment, similar to an alb. It is worn over the cassock.

Stole: A stole is also worn by the pastor during these services.
